A 29-year-old Brandon woman was arrested on Monday after she allegedly punched her ex-partner several times.

Police were called to a residence on the 1500 block of 26th Street at around 6:30 p.m.

A woman went to her ex-partner’s residence, and when he wouldn’t let her inside, she struck him multiple times with her fists — at one point with keys in her hand, the Brandon Police Service said in a news release Tuesday.

The man, 42, had visible cuts to the back of his head, but he did not require treatment from emergency medical services, police said.

Police found the woman at her residence, where she was arrested.

She was charged with assault, and police released her on an undertaking.

She is scheduled to appear in court in April.
