• Daly House Museum (122 18th St., Brandon) — Built in 1882, original home of Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly. Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia. Daly House in partnership with the Brandon Embroiderers presents “The Art of Embroidery: Past and Present,” an exhibit featuring more than 100 embroidery pieces dating from the 1800s to the present. Exhibit is on display until May 20. • Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Unit 2, 710 Rosser Ave., Brandon) — Manitoba’s oldest centre for visual art and one of Canada’s first since 1907. The AGSM boasts two exhibition spaces, an art school and gift shop that supports more than 70 local Manitoba artists. In the Main Gallery is “The Performance of Being,” a retrospective of work by Canadian artist Leesa Streifler on until April 4. • Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (CATPM) (Brandon Municipal Airport, Highway 10, 1.6 kilometres north of Brandon) — Canada’s only air museum solely dedicated to the preservation of those who trained and fought for the British Commonwealth during the Second World War. UPCOMING EVENTS

• March 26 — The 2026 Battle of the Badges: The Tie-Breaker Match takes place in Shilo. In 2024, CFB Shilo was victorious and Terry Parlow, the City of Brandon Chief of Emergency Services lost a bet to Lt.-Col. David Cronk, and had to wash a LAV. In 2025, CFB Shilo lost to Brandon Fire and Emergency Services and Cronk had to wear a Brandon jersey at work all day. Now in 2026 an epic one-night showdown to determine who is the premier hockey club in Westman takes place at the Shilo Gunner Arena with puck drop at 7:15 p.m. Skills competition between the second and third period. The public can also enjoy an open skate time ahead of the game at 5:30 p.m. and meet some of the players. Free for all to attend.

• March 26 — Please join us at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba for the opening reception for “Tears of Truth,” with Brandon students and “Reconciliation, Resilience, and Red,” with Justina McKay in the Kayes Family Community Gallery. These two exhibitions honour and reflect on MMIWG2S, the families that had their children taken by Canada’s residential school system, and the survivors that are still here today who are navigating their healing journey.
