WINNIPEG — A 35-year-old man is facing numerous charges after Blue Hills RCMP say he opened fire inside of a home north of Souris.
Police were called to the home Sunday evening after the man fired a gun several times during a fight with another person in the home, the RCMP said in a release Tuesday.
Police told the man to leave the home over a loudspeaker, but they were ignored.
About three hours later, RCMP entered the home and arrested the suspect, who resisted officers, police said.
Inside the house, RCMP found several prohibited firearms, as well as ammunition and a tactical vest.
The Souris-area man faces charges that include assault, forcible confinement, resisting a peace officer and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was remanded in custody.
