Intercity bus service Flix is expanding its operations to include a stop in Brandon, the company announced on Wednesday.
The company, under its FlixBus service, will introduce services to Brandon, Winnipeg, Swift Current and Moose Jaw on May 7.
Brandon will be serviced through a Regina-Brandon-Winnipeg line, the company said.
“The addition of these new routes is another step in delivering our vision of linking communities from east to west through affordable and dependable transportation,” Karina Frayter, head of communications at Flix North America, said in a news release.
The Brandon stop will be at 1059 Middleton Ave. FlixBus’s website shows the first available trips from Brandon are scheduled on May 8.
The stop in Regina can be joined to multiple existing routes to Alberta.
The company said expanding to Manitoba will provide access to more people in an underserved market, calling its service an affordable and lower-stress method of travel.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the FlixBus website showed a $25.98 cost for the first trip from Brandon to Winnipeg and a $53.98 fare for the first trip from Brandon to Regina, but prices are subject to change.
The press release said that buses have spacious seating and are equipped with free Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat.
