The rumble of classic engines and the shine of polished chrome drew crowds to Assiniboine College’s North Hill campus as the Assiniboine College Students’ Association (ACSA) hosted its second annual vintage car show.
ACSA executive director Alyshia Kelbert said the second edition carried added significance, aligning with the college’s 65th anniversary celebrations and expanding on last year’s successful debut.
“This is our second annual car show, and it’s called a vintage car show this year because we’re helping celebrate the 65th anniversary for the college,” Kelbert told the Sun.

“Last year, one of our council representatives wanted to do a car show, so we said, ‘Sure, let’s give it a try and see how it goes.’ It was really popular. So this year we’ve done it again, and we added a barbecue and a Kid Zone.”
The additions helped broaden the event’s appeal, turning it into more than just a showcase of vehicles. Families, students and community members mingled throughout the day, enjoying food, activities and a steady flow of cars arriving and departing.
Organizers initially saw about 50 vehicles registered, though participation quickly exceeded expectations.
“For a car show, cars come and go, so I’m not 100 per cent sure how many we’ll have,” Kelbert said.
Attendance was also strong, with organizers preparing for roughly 300 visitors — particularly tied to the barbecue — though exact numbers were not tracked.
Over 50 vintage cars are displayed during the Assiniboine College Students’ Association (ACSA) second annual vintage car show at the college’s North Hill campus on Saturday afternoon.
The event ran from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with participating vehicles arriving earlier in the day to set up and display.
While still in its early years, the ACSA car show is already building momentum, offering both a platform for car enthusiasts and a lively gathering space for the wider community, Kelbert said
Organizers are already looking ahead, encouraging attendees to mark their calendars for next year’s event, scheduled for May 8, 2027.
As for what’s in store, Kelbert said plans are still wide open.
“We’ve just started today, so we’ll have to see what kind of requests we get for next year.”
