Join a park interpreter for a four-kilometre hike in the Spirit Sands, where we will discover the diverse ecosystems, flora and fauna, and the intricate history of the sand dunes. • Daly House Museum (122 18th St., Brandon) — Built in 1882, original home of Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly. Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia. Daly House in partnership with the Brandon Embroiderers presents “The Art of Embroidery: Past and Present,” an exhibit featuring more than 100 embroidery pieces dating from the 1800s to the present. Exhibit is on display until May 30. • Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Unit 2, 710 Rosser Ave., Brandon) — Free admission. Manitoba’s oldest centre for visual art and one of Canada’s first since 1907. The AGSM boasts two exhibition spaces, an art school and gift shop that supports more than 70 local Manitoba artists. In the Kayes Family Community Gallery are two exhibitions on until June 6, the “Tears of Truth” bead curtain project created by Brandon area students and community members; and “Reconciliation, Resilience and Red” by Justina McKay. • June 4 — Grad Cruise Night takes place in downtown Brandon on Rosser Avenue between Sixth Street and 13th Street from 6 to 9 p.m. People wishing to show their vehicles are encouraged to enter the event at the intersection of Rosser Avenue and 13th Street. • June 11 — The First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (1RCHA) will conduct a Freedom of the City of Brandon parade and ceremony at 9:30 a.m. near Brandon University and end at city hall. More than 100 soldiers of the unit, accompanied by armoured vehicles and towed Howitzers will march from Brandon University along 18th Street and Victoria Avenue to Ninth Street and stop in front of city hall for the formal military ceremony.
• June 11 — Faders and Ted Good Music Student Wind-up takes place at the Riverbank Discovery Centre. Recitals at 4 p.m.; performances by Close But No Guitar and Robert Mackay at 6:30 p.m.

All participants must use the official Derby Kar Kits which provide wheel, axle, steering and braking mechanisms for the basic car frame. • June 20 — Shilo & Region Service Club presents Lobsterfest 2026 in the L-25 Building in Shilo. Great ready for a delicious steak and lobster dinner, live music, amazing prizes and an evening to remember. Seating is limited. Only 800 tickets available. Tickets for military/veterans/family is $55; all other tickets are $60. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.; meal at 5 p.m.; live music by Crossfyre at 7 p.m. Tickets are available in Shilo at all three messes, RCA Museum and Cursed Coffee; in Brandon at Smitty’s in the Shoppers Mall and Sobeys (west location); in Carberry at the Carberry Legion. Free transportation: Bus leaves Brandon at Sobeys Brandon South at 2:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Return trip departs from Shilo at 10:30 p.m. and midnight.
