• 9 a.m. — Rivers Community Yard Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lions Club barbecue in the Legion parking lot from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Maps available at Westoba Credit Union or Way-more Agencies.
• 10 a.m. — The third annual Freedom Poker Run. Registration will be at Dirty Word Customz in Oak Lake from 10 a.m. to noon. All riders and bikers are welcome. Hands in Virden, Moosomin, Maryfield and back to Oak Lake Hall. Lots of prizes to give away. 50/50 draw. Proceeds go to the women’s and men’s shelters. Beer gardens and live bands at the Oak Lake Ag Society (Oak Lake Hall as a rain venue). There’s a $10 entry fee to beer gardens. Camping at $20 a night. This will be a cash-only weekend.
• 11 a.m. — The Travellers Day Parade begins at the corner of Sixth Street and Rosser Avenue and proceeds west to 13th Street and then south to the fairgrounds.

• 10 a.m. — Armed Forces Day celebration at the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (Brandon Municipal Airport, Highway 10, 1.6 kilometres north of Brandon) until 4 p.m. This event offers the opportunity to explore historic aircraft displays, meet military and community partners, participate in Junior Pilots activities and experience the atmosphere of a working wartime airfield brought to life. Flights aboard historic aircraft may be offered, weather permitting. Scale Model Builders meet greet and share event takes place in the canteen building from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Noon — The Manitoba Summer Fair continues at the Keystone Centre grounds from noon to 8 p.m. In the Rocking The Dome Summer Saloon: Wayne Lee Hypnotist. Chrome in the Trees will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on the Keystone grounds. This is a free event to participants and one passenger and open to classic and special-interest vehicles and motorcycles. Spectators are required to pay admission to the fair. Show participants enter from the south entrance (Richmond Avenue). Prize draws and DJ entertainment. Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia. • Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Unit 2, 710 Rosser Ave., Brandon) — Free admission. Manitoba’s oldest centre for visual art and one of Canada’s first since 1907. The AGSM boasts two exhibition spaces, an art school and gift shop that supports more than 70 local Manitoba artists. Now until Aug. 1, the Main Gallery is featuring two exhibitions: “Mending: Quilt Project 2025-26” with Melanie Rocan and “Renewal,” a travelling exhibition featuring 33 fibre and textile artists. In the Kayes Family Community Gallery until June 6 are the “Tears of Truth” bead curtain project created by Brandon area students and community members; and “Reconciliation, Resilience and Red” by Justina McKay. • June 11 — The First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (1RCHA) will conduct a Freedom of the City of Brandon parade and ceremony at 9:30 a.m. near Brandon University and end at city hall. More than 100 soldiers of the unit, accompanied by armoured vehicles and towed Howitzers will march from Brandon University along 18th Street and Victoria Avenue to Ninth Street and stop in front of city hall for the formal military ceremony. Motorists are advised to use a different route during this event.
• June 11 — Faders and Ted Good Music Student Wind-up takes place at the Riverbank Discovery Centre. Recitals at 4 p.m.; performances by Close But No Guitar and Robert Mackay at 6:30 p.m.

• June 13 — Join us on Rideau Street for the Kiwanis Kar Derby. Cheer on the kids as they take on the hill in their soap box derby cars for a day full of speed, smiles and community fun. Event starts at 9 a.m. (Rain day June 14). All participants must use the official Derby Kar Kits, which provide wheel, axle, steering and braking mechanisms for the basic car frame.
