The woman received medical treatment, and police arrested a 26-year-old man at the home, BPS said in a news release.

Police held the man in BPS detention cells overnight for a Sunday morning court appearance.

Weapon possession

A man accused of carrying a knife in a Brandon park was arrested on Sunday.

The Brandon Police Service received a report of a man carrying a “large knife” in the middle of Princess Park at around 4:30 p.m.

The caller described the man to police, and officers responded to the area, where they arrested a 47-year-old man with a knife, police said. The man was on a probation order with a condition prohibiting him from having weapons, BPS said.

Police charged the man with possessing a weapon and breaching his release order. He was held in BPS detention cells overnight and scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
