• 9:30 a.m. — The First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (1RCHA) will conduct a Freedom of the City of Brandon parade and ceremony at 9:30 a.m. near Brandon University and end at city hall. More than 100 soldiers of the unit, accompanied by armoured vehicles and towed Howitzers, will march from Brandon University along 18th Street and Victoria Avenue to Ninth Street and stop in front of city hall for the formal military ceremony. Motorists are advised to use a different route during this event.

• 9 a.m. — Join us on Rideau Street for the Kiwanis Kar Derby. Cheer on the kids as they take on the hill in their soap box derby cars for a day full of speed, smiles and community fun. Event starts at 9 a.m. (Rain day June 14). All participants must use the official Derby Kar Kits, which provide wheel, axle, steering and braking mechanisms for the basic car frame. Kar Kits plus one registration can be purchased from the Kiwanis Club of Brandon. Participation is open to children between the ages of eight and 14.

Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia. Now until Aug. 1, the Main Gallery is featuring two exhibitions: “Mending: Quilt Project 2025-26” with Melanie Rocan and “Renewal,” a travelling exhibition featuring 33 fibre and textile artists. • Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (CATPM) (Brandon Municipal Airport, Highway 10, 1.6 kilometres north of Brandon) — Canada’s only air museum solely dedicated to the preservation of those who trained and fought for the British Commonwealth during the Second World War. • Royal Canadian Artillery Museum (Building N-118 Patricia Rd., CFB Shilo) — Discover “WWII Command Posts,” a temporary exhibit at the RCA Museum, showcasing Canada’s mobile command vehicles and their role in co-ordinating artillery and communications during the Second World War. • June 19 — The Hamiota & District Sports Complex presents a concert with Kendra Kay. • June 19-20 — The annual Little Valley Jamboree will be held in Erickson at the curling rink. This annual musical festival is held to raise awareness, support and funds for children living with special needs in the area and throughout Manitoba. • June 20 — Shilo & Region Service Club presents Lobsterfest 2026 in the L-25 Building in Shilo. Event features a delicious steak and lobster dinner, live music and amazing prizes.
