6:30 p.m. — Creative Journeys presents the fourth annual art exhibition and sale at the Ukrainian Reading Hall (1005 Assiniboine Ave.) featuring local artists showing and selling their works 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available at Westman YFC office (1228 Rosser Ave.)

FRIDAY

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Brandon Farmers’ Market takes place inside The Town Centre (800 Rosser Ave., Brandon). Local fresh produce, baking, jams and jellies, pickling, yarn, bison, beef, beeswax candles, crafts and more.

10 a.m. — Brandon Rock n’ Gem Show at the Keystone Centre from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wander through a brilliant display of crystals, fossils, gemstones and handcrafted jewelry. Admission: $3 single ticket, $7 family ticket.

Noon — Indigenous Peoples Day takes place at the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation Powwow Grounds with live entertainment featuring Brayden King, C-Weed Band plus Gramma Sherry, Sioux Valley’s very own Tik Tok influencer. Also will have a talent show, baseball, basketball and volleyball tournaments, moccasin games, horseshoe tournament, fishing derby, quad derby, horse and wagon rides, car show, petting zoo and much more. Mini competition powwow with grand entry at noon. Food trucks, Elders merch bingo, barbecue supper and fireworks!

6 p.m. — The annual Little Valley Jamboree will be held in Erickson at the curling rink. This annual musical festival is held to raise awareness, support and funds for children living with special needs in the area and throughout Manitoba. Today it opens at 6 p.m. with musical acts Bull Ruckus and Clubbing Fraggles. Recipients for this year are Resse Sheane from Miniota and Nathan Huhtala from Forrest. 7:30 a.m. — The 144th annual Rapid City Agricultural Fair kicks off with a pancake breakfast served up by the Rapid City rink from 7:30 to 9 a.m.; parade at 9:30 a.m. followed by a day of events including 4-H Beef Achievement, horse show, MGRA at 3 p.m. and supper served from 5 to 7 p.m.

8:30 a.m. — The Nikki Redekop Memorial Beach Volleyball Tournament will be held at Mulligan’s Driving Range and Beach Volleyball (Just past 50th Street on Victoria Avenue) at 8:30 a.m. Format is Coed 4s; adult and U16 divisions. Register at Mulligan’s Driving Range of at volleyballmanitoba.ca.

9 a.m. — Come on down to the Market at the Riverbank from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday until Sept. 26 under the trees, just west of the playground on the Discovery Centre grounds.

Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Unit 2, 710 Rosser Ave., Brandon) — Free admission. Manitoba’s oldest centre for visual art and one of Canada’s first since 1907. The AGSM boasts two exhibition spaces, an art school and gift shop that supports more than 70 local Manitoba artists. Now until Aug. 1, the Main Gallery is featuring two exhibitions: “Mending: Quilt Project 2025-26” with Melanie Rocan and “Renewal,” a travelling exhibition featuring 33 fibre and textile artists. In the Kayes Family Community Gallery until Aug. 1 is “Making Our Mark III,” a community exhibition of local Westman 2SLGBTQIA+ artists. Brandon General Museum and Archives (19 Ninth St., Unit 101) — Attractions include the Brandon History Hall, Manitoba Telephone History, the BJ Hales Natural History Collection and rotating exhibits celebrating Brandon’s roots. Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (CATPM) (Brandon Municipal Airport, Highway 10, 1.6 kilometres north of Brandon) — Canada’s only air museum solely dedicated to the preservation of those who trained and fought for the British Commonwealth during the Second World War. Royal Canadian Artillery Museum (Building N-118 Patricia Rd., CFB Shilo) — Discover “WWII Command Posts,” a temporary exhibit at the RCA Museum, showcasing Canada’s mobile command vehicles and their role in co-ordinating artillery and communications during the Second World War. June 27-28 — The Spruce Woods Hidden Trails Endurance Ride is a highly anticipated event for equestrians, offering a challenging ride through scenic trails of Spruce Woods Provincial Park.
