A flood warning is still in place in the City of Brandon due to elevated water levels in the Shellmouth Dam and along the Assiniboine River following heavy rainfall in the region.
The Assiniboine River level and flow is expected to rise daily with a forecasted peak until Friday, warned the province’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre.
Low-lying areas may be affected, leading to possible closures of some recreational spaces, the city said on social media.
Overland floodwater is extremely dangerous, and residents are encouraged to be cautious near the Assiniboine River during this period, the city said.
