• 5:30 p.m. — City of Brandon Parks and Recreation presents Open Mic Night at the Riverbank Discovery Centre at 5:30 p.m. This is a free event. Open to music, comedy, poetry and more.

• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Brandon Farmers’ Market takes place inside The Town Centre (800 Rosser Ave., Brandon). Local fresh produce, baking, jams and jellies, pickling, yarn, bison, beef, beeswax candles, crafts and more.
• Day — Westman Wilderness Club: Slater Lake Canoe/Kayak event. Kelly and Michele are hosting this event, which is an hour and 20 minutes north of Brandon. You will need to portage your canoe/kayak through a trail in the bush for about 75 yards, so bring mosquito repellent. • 7:30 p.m. — The Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival is celebrating the legacy of Maurice Ravel. • 6 a.m. — The Spruce Woods Hidden Trails Endurance Ride is a highly anticipated event for equestrians, offering a challenging ride through scenic trails of Spruce Woods Provincial Park. The distance is 50 miles, consisting of three loops. 50’s vetting at 8:30 p.m. evening prior and ride out at 6 a.m.; 25’s vetting at 8:30 p.m. evening prior and ride out at 8 a.m.; 10/15’s at 8:30 a.m. ride out at 10 a.m. For more information, email drm.endurance@gmail.com.
• 7 a.m. — The 144th annual Killarney Agricultural Fair continues at the Killarney Ag grounds with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. Parade at 10 a.m.; Killarney Idol Karaoke at 1:30 p.m. and stage entertainment begins at 3 p.m. And much, much more. • 11:15 a.m. — Westman Immigrant Services invite you to come celebrate Cultural Connections, a free community event which honours and celebrates the beautiful diverse cultures that make up our country. Event kick off at Brandon City Hall from 11:15 a.m. to noon, followed by barbecue and entertainment at the WIS Multicultural Centre (1001 Pacific Ave.). Canada Day celebrations are happening all over the Westman area. Here are just a few:
• 8 a.m. — Come celebrate Canada Day in Elkhorn with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m.; parade at noon; barbecue and beer gardens at 1 p.m.; cold plate meal; kids’ activities and a threshing display.
• 9 a.m. — Kenton celebrations kick off with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m.; bike parade; car rally; grand opening of the playground and the KCE Kitchen, Harding Ag Society roast beef supper and music in the park with Along For The Ride.
• 9 a.m. — Minnedosa Beach celebrations kick off with a pancake breakfast at 9:30 a.m. followed by beach Zumba, scavenger hunt, vintage car parade, indigenous culture and connection tent, kids zone, circus show and workshop, Diamond Disc dog show, bonfire at the beach, cornhole tournament, live music by Heidi Hislop and Jodi McCaughan and fireworks at dusk. Food trucks on site.
• 10 a.m. — Hop on board and celebrate Canada Day with Spirit Sands Wagon Outfitters. Join us for a horse-drawn wagon ride through the beautiful Spirit Sands in Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Wagon rides at 10 am., noon and 2 p.m. Cost is $10 for youth; $30 for adults. Seats are limited to so book ahead to reserve your seat.

• Day — Canada Day in Boissevain includes parade featuring the parade of flags, show ‘n’ shine car show, vendors, barbecue lunch, live entertainment on outdoor stage, kids’ activities and games and much more including fireworks at dusk.
• 11 a.m. — Join us for a Canada Day celebration at the Riverbank Discovery Centre hosted by the City of Brandon Parks and Recreation Services. This free community event is filled with entertainment, food and family-friendly activities … and of course fireworks. Put on your red and white and celebrate Canada Day in style. Market at 11 a.m.; kids zone at 11 a.m.; food trucks 11 a.m.; opening ceremonies at 1 p.m.; Powwow demo at 2 p.m.; fireworks at 11 p.m. Music throughout the day on the main stage with performances by Just 4 Kicks, Josh Cory and The Sean Taylor Band.
• 1 p.m. — Celebrate Canada Day by listening to The Dukes of Ukes play and sing pop and country songs of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s at Crow’s General Store (33 17th St. East) from 1 to 3 p.m. Admission is free. Bring lawn chairs or sit on benches provided.

• 7 p.m. — Taoist Tai Chi at Trinity United Church (1515 Sixth St.) every Wednesday evening until 8:30 p.m. Our leaders will guide you through the practice, which is part of an ancient tradition dating back to the 13th century.

• Daly House Museum (122 18th St., Brandon) — Built in 1882, original home of Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly. Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia. Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Admission: $7 adults; $6 seniors and youth (6-18); family (up to two adults and three children), $13; children under five, free. • Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Unit 2, 710 Rosser Ave., Brandon) — Free admission. Manitoba’s oldest centre for visual art and one of Canada’s first since 1907. The AGSM boasts two exhibition spaces, an art school and gift shop that supports more than 70 local Manitoba artists. Now until Aug. 1, the Main Gallery is featuring two exhibitions: “Mending: Quilt Project 2025-26” with Melanie Rocan and “Renewal,” a travelling exhibition featuring 33 fibre and textile artists. • Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (CATPM) (Brandon Municipal Airport, Highway 10, 1.6 kilometres north of Brandon) — Canada’s only air museum solely dedicated to the preservation of those who trained and fought for the British Commonwealth during the Second World War. • Royal Canadian Artillery Museum (Building N-118 Patricia Rd., CFB Shilo) — Discover “WWII Command Posts,” a temporary exhibit at the RCA Museum, showcasing Canada’s mobile command vehicles and their role in co-ordinating artillery and communications during the Second World War. • July 2 — Downtown Cruise Night takes place in downtown Brandon on Rosser Avenue between Sixth Street and 13th Street from 6 to 9 p.m. People wishing to show their vehicles are encouraged to enter the event at the intersection of Rosser Avenue and 13th Street. • July 2 — Music in the Park at the Jubilee Stage in Victoria Park in Virden (7th Avenue South and Seymour Street West) features Daelyn Fefchak at 7 p.m. The Legion will be hosting a barbecue at each concert throughout the summer starting at 6:15 p.m. In case of rain the concert will be held at the Legion Hall (540 8th Ave.).
• July 2 — City of Brandon Parks and Recreation presents Open Mic Night at the Riverbank Discovery Centre at 5:30 p.m. This is a free event. Open to music, comedy, poetry and more.
• July 3-4 — The Brandon University School of Music will be having a reunion celebrating the 120th year of music being offered at BU. It has been 20 years since the last reunion; 50 years since the Class of 1976 graduated and 60 years since the first student graduated from the School of Music. July 3 is registration from 6 to 7 p.m. at BU School of Music Kinsmen Hall followed by a wine and cheese reception. Cash bar available and entertainment by a jazz trio. July 4 will have campus tours, Alumni concert at Lorne Watson Recital Hall; reception at Harvest Hall and reunion banquet at 6:30 p.m. at Harvest Hall. For more information visit brandonu.ca/events.
• July 3-5 — Come join in the celebrations at the Rolling into Rivers Festival. July 3: Rivers Co-op Barbecue at 11:30 a.m.; Rivers Comets baseball game at 7 p.m. July 4: parade at 9:30 a.m.; barbecue lunch at Rivers Legion; pony rides and kids activities; car show; auction at the Legion at 11 a.m.; archery demos; live band and beer gardens at 4 p.m. at the Legion; fireworks at dusk. July 5: Tractor Trek at 10 a.m.; turkey shoot; barbecue lunch; Little Obie Train Rides from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; sandcastle competition and a paddle derby at 1 p.m. at the Daly Beach Dock/Rivers Provincial Park.
• July 3-5 — The Daly House 50th annual general meeting will be held at the Daly House at 1 p.m. Join us for some anniversary cake and learn how the past year went for the museum. • July 3-5 — It will be an action-packed weekend at the Carberry Agricultural Fair and Races. Come out and cheer on your favorite team and feel the energy of the crowd at our legendary races.
• July 4 — Get ready for high-flying action as a Professional Freestyle Motocross Show comes to the Shamrock Centre in Killarney. Showtimes are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Cost: $15 for kids; $25 for adults; $70 for family pass (2 kids and 2 adults). Stick around after each show for an exclusive meet and greet with the riders.
• July 4 — Join us as we kick off summer in style at the Kickoff to Summer 2026 event in Killarney. Join us at 50 Water Ave. at 4 p.m. for a fun-filled evening celebrating the start of summer with exciting activities, delicious food from several different food trucks, and great music. • July 4 — Sandy Lake in Bloom town-wide yard sales take place today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine! Sandy Lake Rec Centre will be hosting a lunch at the outdoor kitchen from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A map will be posted on Facebook along with hard copies being available at Sunrise Credit Union and Heritage Co-op.
• July 4 — Join us at Oak Island Resort this summer. We have a great lineup of bands coming out for the summer. Tonight it is Along For The Ride at 7:30 p.m. at the bandstand. Bring a lawn chair. • July 4-5 — The Manitoba Small Equine Show will take place in the Assiniboine Credit Union Agricultural Centre of Excellence at the Keystone Centre. July 4 at 9 a.m. and July 5 at 8 a.m.
• July 8 — Beginning today until August, downtown Brandon transforms into a vibrant hub of excitement, creativity and community spirit at the Downtown Summer Market every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. on Rosser Avenue. Stroll through the market and soak in the sounds of live music, savour delicious food and discover one-of-a-kind handmade goods from local artisans and chefs.
• July 9 — The City of Brandon Parks and Recreation presents The Incredibly Hip live on stage at the Riverbank Discovery Centre at 6:30 p.m. Also featuring Simple Jack. Bring your friends, lawn chairs and come spend the evening with us by the river. This is a free event to attend.
