One person was sent to the hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries after a small airplane on its way to Brandon made an emergency landing on Highway 45 Thursday night, Mounties say.
Yellowhead and Spruce Plains RCMP were alerted shortly after 7 p.m. that a small airplane was in distress and was trying to land on a highway.
The TBM 8 single-engine aircraft had taken off from The Pas earlier in the day and was on its way to Brandon when the pilot made an emergency landing on Highway 45, east of Sandy Lake, RCMP said in a news release on Friday.

The plane came to a stop in a ditch on the north side of the road and had four people inside at the time of the crash, Mounties said.
One person was taken to the hospital, with what police said appeared to be minor injuries.
Mounties said the Transportation Safety Board of Canada was informed of the emergency landing.
