A 25-year-old man died following a collision Tuesday evening at an uncontrolled intersection in Rural Municipality of Westlake-Gladstone.
Amaranth RCMP responded to the collision at around 8:20 p.m. and saw a pickup truck in a ditch with a hydro pole leaning against it and an SUV on its side about 10 to 15 feet away, RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.
Police said the SUV was southbound on Road 51 West when it collided with the pickup truck that was headed west on Road 94 North.
Both vehicles had “extensive front-end damage,” Mounties said.
The driver of the SUV, a man from the RM of Westlake-Gladstone, later died in the hospital, police said.
The pickup truck driver, a 72-year-old man, had minor injuries.
Mounties are investigating the cause of the collision.
