RCMP have arrested four suspects after a 19-year-old man was allegedly attacked and kidnapped in the rural municipality of Killarney-Turtle Mountain.
Mounties received a report of an assault around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, RCMP said in a news release.
The victim was preparing to leave his community in a vehicle when he was attacked by a group of men who allegedly held him down and duct-taped his hands and feet, RCMP said.
Police said the group assaulted him with a stick and took his two cellphones and two small knives before loading him into the back of an off-road vehicle. He was dropped off near a wooded area, the release said.
Three of the suspects wore masks partially covering their faces, RCMP said.
The victim was eventually able to free himself from the tape and made it home to call for help.
All four suspects are from Killarney-Turtle Mountain.
Justin Gross, 31, Gideon Waldner, 22, and Jayden Waldner, 26, face charges of forcible confinement, robbery, disguise with the intent to commit an offence and overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offence.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with forcible confinement, robbery with a weapon and overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offence.
All four have been released on bail.
The RCMP continue to investigate.
