The Brandon Wheat Kings Foundation announced a new partnership with Trans Canada Brewing Co. as the presenting sponsor of the foundation’s 50-50 program for the 2026-27 season.

Trans Canada Brewing brand and marketing leader Emma Houldsworth said the company is “very excited” to be partnering with the foundation as the 50-50 sponsor.

“Growing in Manitoba is our main focus right now for our company and putting down roots in Westman is the next step,” Houldsworth told the Sun.

“As construction continues on our new brewery and taproom on the corner of Highway 1 and 10 in Brandon, partnering with organizations that share the same values in fostering community and joining people together is the perfect connection to the space we are building.”

The partnership marks a significant step forward in supporting youth, education and community initiatives across Westman while creating a bigger and more exciting fundraising campaign for fans, the foundation said in a news release on Monday.

Starting Aug. 1, the fall progressive 50-50 launches with a guaranteed $10,000 starting jackpot and two early bird prize opportunities before the grand prize draw during the Wheat Kings home opener on Sept. 18, the release said.

The first early bird draw offers $1,000 cash, with ticket sales closing Aug. 9 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner drawn on Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. The second early bird draw features a Wheat Kings flex pack, valued at $899 and including two tickets to the prospect game.

Foundation executive director Robbie Zetariuk said the partnership is “much more” than a jackpot.

“We’re so happy to welcome Trans Canada Brewing Co. as our presenting sponsor because they share our commitment to giving back. Together, we’re creating more opportunities for youth, supporting education and making a meaningful impact throughout our community,” Zetariuk said.

The foundation has become a driving force in supporting educational opportunities and player development while leaving a lasting impact beyond the rink, the release said.
