The Brandon Police Service has charged a 36-year-old man with possessing property obtained by crime after a stolen vehicle was recovered earlier this year.
While police officers were investigating a separate stolen vehicle complaint on March 5, they located a red Jeep Compass on the 100 block of Frederick Street, police said in a news release on Tuesday.
The vehicle had licence plates belonging to a different vehicle and police determined the SUV had been stolen in February.

The vehicle was towed to the police station as part of the investigation. During the forensic examination, police found fingerprints near the fuel door belonging to an incarcerated suspect, BPS said.
The suspect was arrested at the Brandon Correctional Centre on Monday at 11:15 a.m. and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
