Police said the man was driving with a suspended licence and was found to be possessing weapons despite having a court order not to.
The man was taken into custody and charged with failing to comply with a release order and possession of a weapon.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
Stolen vehicle
The Brandon Police Service recovered a stolen vehicle that was found near the Trans-Canada Highway on Wednesday.
Around 7 a.m., police received a report of a suspiciously parked vehicle on Deer Ridge Road, just north of the Trans-Canada Highway, police said on Thursday.
Officers said the vehicle wasn’t occupied and confirmed it had been reported stolen.
The vehicle was towed to the police station for a forensic examination, and the registered owner was notified.
No other details were provided about the vehicle.
The investigation continues.
