The head of Westman Immigrant Services in Brandon has parted ways with the organization.
Enver Naidoo was replaced as the organization’s executive director earlier this month. Hannah Stollery is listed as the acting executive director on WIS’s leadership directory.
“It was a great five plus years with WIS, with a lot of significant community impact, and I’m very proud of the work the team has done,” Naidoo said in a text message to the Sun on Monday.
Naidoo, who is currently the only registered candidate in Ward 3 in next month’s civic election in Brandon, took over as executive director in 2021 after previously serving as the organization’s local immigrant partnership co-ordinator.
Naidoo wouldn’t say whether the departure from the organization was amicable.
“I’m considering a number of opportunities and taking time to think carefully about what comes next,” he said.
Stollery, who previously served as the organization’s community outreach manager, said WIS doesn’t currently have any comment to make on the leadership change.
“That’s not something that we’re commenting on right now,” she said.
Stollery said WIS will send out a media release “when the time comes” about the new leadership at the organization.
When asked about his run for office, Naidoo said, “My commitment to serving the community continues.”
