Trial dates have been set for a Rivers teen accused of planning an attack on his high school.
The 14-year-old boy, who appeared in Brandon provincial court via video from the Manitoba Youth Centre in Winnipeg on Tuesday, will stand trial from April 5-8 and May 25-28 in Brandon.
The youth has been in custody since he was arrested on a school bus near Provincial Road 250 by Manitoba RCMP on March 16.

He faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, counselling the offence of murder and two counts of uttering threats. He was denied bail in June.
RCMP allege the teen and a 15-year-old girl from Bridgewater, N.S., were discussing and planning simultaneous attacks to harm students at Rivers Collegiate and Park View Education Centre in Nova Scotia.
Rivers Collegiate is a Grade 7-12 school with about 140 students, the school’s website says. The community, situated 40 kilometres northwest of Brandon, has a population of less than 1,500 people.
Interpol and the FBI notified police in Canada of the two teens, who began talking online in late February, police said.
During his arrest, RCMP seized the boy’s phone and other electronic devices. Police also had a warrant to search two properties associated with the youth and seized two firearms owned by a relative, additional electronic devices and other items, police said.
The 15-year-old in Bridgewater was also arrested on March 16. She faces several charges, including conspiracy to commit murder and uttering threats.
Bridgewater police said they seized handwritten plans, imitation weapons, a roughly made imitation pipe bomb and assault rifle, and clothing with hate symbols from the teen’s home.
Neither of the teens can be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
