Officers were called to a residence on the 300 block of 18th Street around 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Brandon police said in a news release on Friday.
Police said the suspect assaulted a 35-year-old woman and determined he had also assaulted her the week before.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault, forcible confinement and assault by choking. He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
WOMAN CHOKED
A Dauphin man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home and choked her before stealing an electronic device.
RCMP responded to a disturbance in Dauphin on Tuesday around 10:45 p.m. after a man entered a woman’s home and began to physically assault her, RCMP said in a news release on Friday.
Police said the man, who was wearing a black mask and black clothing, unplugged a gaming console before fleeing.
The woman was treated for her injuries at the home, RCMP said.
Police identified the suspect, who was known to the victim, and found him the next day outside a Dauphin residence. He was arrested with the help of police dogs, RCMP said.
A 30-year-old man was charged with assault and assault by choking, break and enter and robbery.
He was remanded into custody.
