Stolen vehicle alert
Brandon police are asking the public to keep an eye out for an SUV that was reported stolen on Monday morning.
Officers are investigating the theft of a 2018 blue Honda CR-V that was taken from an apartment parking stall sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Sunday and 9:35 a.m. on Monday, police said in a news release on Tuesday.

The vehicle owner’s apartment had been broken into a few days earlier and a spare key was stolen, police said.
The front licence plate of the SUV (KBJ 720) has faded paint, police said. The vehicle is also estimated to have about 200 kilometres of gas left in the tank.

Hotel mischief
A man has been arrested for breaking a hotel window with a rock on Monday evening.
Brandon police were called to the hotel on the 100 block of Fifth Street around 9:34 p.m. for the incident.
A 29-year-old man was charged with mischief under $5,000 and was taken into custody.
He was released on an undertaking with a future court date of Nov. 30.
Teen charged in assault
An 18-year-old woman was arrested around midnight on Tuesday after a woman was assaulted in Brandon.
Police responded to the incident that occurred in the 100 block of Fifth Street and reviewed video footage that showed the suspect punching a woman and pulling her by the hair down a stairway.
The suspect was located one street over and was charged with assault.
She was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
Unpaid taxi fare
A woman was arrested after failing to pay a $30 taxi fare in Brandon on Monday evening, police say.
Officers received a report about a woman who took a taxi to a residence on Queens Avenue and left the vehicle without paying.
Police found the woman inside the home and determined she had taken the taxi without having the means to pay for a ride.
The woman was arrested and charged with fraudulently obtaining transportation. She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17.
