Two men are facing multiple charges after a woman reported being sexually assaulted last week at a residence in Swan River.
RCMP received a report on Sept. 18 about the incident that had occurred the previous day, police said in a news release Tuesday.
Police identified two suspects.
A 30-year-old man from Pine Creek First Nation was arrested on Sept. 18 while walking on First Street South in Swan River. He faces charges of sexual assault, forcible confinement, aggravated assault and break and enter.
A 24-year-old man from Swan River was located at a residence on Second Avenue South later that afternoon. He attempted to flee and ignored police orders to show his hands, resulting him being tased, police said.
The man went back inside his home before he surrendered to police shortly after.
He faces charges of sexual assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats, break and enter, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
The investigation also linked the same suspects to two other incidents that occurred during the previous week — an assault near a skatepark on Sept. 15 and a residential break-in on Sept. 17.
The two suspects were remanded into custody, as well as a 26-year-old man from Swan River who was also charged in the skatepark assault.
