A 19-year-old woman was taken to hospital in stable condition after she was stabbed at a party in Sioux Valley Dakota Nation on Tuesday.
RCMP were called to a home around 8:40 a.m. after receiving a report of an assault. When Mounties arrived, First Nations safety officers were providing medical aid to the woman, RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.
Paramedics showed up shortly after and took the woman to a hospital.
Mounties determined the woman was stabbed following an argument at a party and fled the scene to a relative’s home to get help.
Police arrested a 19-year-old woman at a home close to where the incident happened, RCMP said.
Teagan Taylor, from Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
