Sexual assault
Brandon police arrested and charged a 42-year-old man with sexual assault on Sunday.
The man’s partner made a report at the police station on Sept. 9, claiming he had been abusing and sexually assaulting her for 12 years, police said in a news release on Monday.

The woman and her family made statements to police. The suspect was held in custody for a court appearance.
Skate park arrest
A man was arrested on Sunday evening after he allegedly punched several people at the skate park in downtown Brandon.
Officers were called to the skate park around 7:20 p.m. for a report of a 59-year-old man who was intoxicated and had allegedly assaulted multiple people, police said Monday.
None of victims wanted to provide statements to police, but one of the individuals sustained a cut to her face as a result of the incident.
The suspect was arrested and was released on an undertaking once sober. He will appear in court at a future date.
Punched twice
A woman was arrested on Sunday evening after a man was punched in the face twice, police say.
Around 8:25 p.m., the Brandon Police Service was called to the 600 block of 11th Street for a report of an assault.
Police allege a 31-year-old woman punched a 46-year-old man during an argument. The female suspect was taken into custody near the residence.
She was later released on an undertaking with a court appearance scheduled for Nov. 16.
Grocery store theft
A man in custody at the Brandon Correctional Centre is facing a new charge of theft after about $170 worth of meat and a fruit tray were stolen from a grocery store last month.
Brandon police received a report of a shoplifting incident from a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue on Sunday.
Officers reviewed video surveillance, which showed a suspect stealing the food items from the business around 9 p.m. on Sept. 16.
Police identified a 40-year-old male suspect who was charged with theft under $5,000.
The suspect is currently remanded at the Brandon Correctional Centre and was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
