An employee at the Tim Hortons location on the Trans-Canada Highway in Brandon has tested positive for COVID-19, according to an email from the company.
"Following public health guidelines, team members who worked closely with this person are self-isolating for 14 days and will be supported through Tim Hortons corporate and restaurant owner COVID-19 compensation fund to make up for any lost wages," the email read. "The restaurant will remain closed until it can be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and a separate crew of team members can be brought in."
The Sun contacted local franchisee Rhonda Pardy on Thursday morning about the situation, but she would only confirm that the location was closed and directed all other inquiries to corporate media relations.
