Hey there, time traveller!

There is a discrepancy between the COVID-19 infected flights into Brandon listed by Manitoba Health and WestJet, the airline that services the Brandon airport.
Manitoba Health lists WS 3256 from Calgary to Brandon on both March 14 and 15 as having infected passengers aboard, but WestJet itself only lists the flight on March 15.
The affected seats on the March 15 flight differ as well; Manitoba Health lists only rows 2-8, but WestJet lists the entire plane as affected. On the March 14 flight, Manitoba Health only lists seat 12A as affected.
A spokesperson for the provincial government could not explain the difference on Thursday. They said in a statement though that Manitoba Health looks at close proximity and more than 10 minutes of contact with an infected person when considering the rows to list online.
A WestJet spokesperson also could not explain the discrepancy but said the airline had been notified about the flight into Brandon on March 14.
“We have a strict process and protocol in place for notifying our crew of affected flights they may have operated on as soon as we are notified. We are not always able to post the information in co-ordination with public health as we only post to our blog once we have ensured all WestJetters have been notified,” they said in an emailed statement.
Manitoba Health has jurisdiction for notifying passengers on board the flight if they were close to someone who tested positive, but WestJet provides “information as required.”
The provincial spokesperson said the exact rows and flights affected by the virus sometimes changes as public health investigations take place.
