Hey there, time traveller!

All provincial parks in Manitoba will be free to enter this February, the provincial government announced on Monday.
Vehicle permits are not required to enter, but Snopasses are required for snowmobiles to use the groomed trails in parks.
Winter activities available on parks’ groomed trails include cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, fat biking, snowshoeing and hiking. Paint Lake, Spruce Woods and Turtle Mountain provincial parks also feature toboggan hills, outdoor skating areas and hockey rinks.
Trail conditions are updated online every Thursday at manitobaparks.com. Dogs are welcome on trails but must remain on-leash.
Interpreters will be providing several free park webinars this month. The schedule includes:
• A cross-country ski technique presentation on Feb. 3
• A Parks After Dark presentation on eclipses jointly presented by the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada on Feb. 7
• Skijoring and kick-sledding presentations on Feb. 17
• A presentation on the owls of Manitoba on Feb. 20
• A behind-the-scenes tour of the Whiteshell Fish Hatchery on Feb. 27.
Information on these presentations as well as registration details can be found online on Manitoba Parks’ Facebook page or at manitobaparks.com.
