At least one case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at St. Augustine School, according to public health officials.

A Brandon School Division news release issued Sunday said the individual, in a Grade 2 classroom, is believed to have been at the school and infectious between Oct. 12 and 13. “The infection was not believed to be acquired at school,” the release said.

Close contacts have been identified and are advised to self-isolate, according to the division. Parents are advised to closely monitor their child for COVID-19 symptoms even if they were not identified as a close contact.

A Grade 6 class at St. Augustine School was moved to remote learning Friday after public health officials declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the K-8 institution.
