A man was allegedly assaulted during an armed robbery Saturday in the western Interlake region.

At approximately 7 a.m., West Interlake RCMP received a report of a robbery at a residence in Ashern, according to a press release.

Three men entered a residence and threatened the residents with a gun, a machete and a baton, police say. They stole cash, jewelry and electronics after reportedly assaulting a man, who suffered minor injuries.

Police say the suspects left in a silver Jeep Wrangler. RCMP patrolled in Ashern, Lundar, Gypsumville, Stonewall and Ste. Rose du Lac but didn’t find the Jeep.

The suspects are all between five-foot-seven and five-foot-10 and Caucasian, police say. One of the men is approximately 40 years old with salt-and-pepper hair and hazel eyes.

Police say they don’t believe the incident was random.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ashern RCMP at 204-768-2311, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or leave a secure tip online at manitobacrimestoppers.com.
