Residents of southern Manitoba shouldn’t be surprised if a big dump of snow arrived overnight after a blizzard was forecast to hit the province.
A blizzard was expected to hit Westman and the Parklands first with heavy snowfall and winds between 80 to 90 km/h arriving around midnight, according to Environment Canada.
The blizzard was then forecast to head east toward the Red River Valley.
In Brandon, winds are expected to remain between 40-60 km/h this morning after the bulk of the bad weather has moved on.
That will likely lead to blowing snow and low visibility, with the temperature hovering around -30 C with the wind chill.
