A swastika was briefly painted on a rock overlooking Brandon’s Corral Centre on Sunday.
The hate symbol was reported to Brandon police on Sunday, said acting public information officer Const. Amanda Conway. By the time officers arrived to investigate, it had been painted over.
When reached Monday afternoon, Conway said she was unsure if police were investigating the incident further.
Conway also couldn’t say whether it was being investigated as a hate crime.
The rock is now covered in blue paint with the words “RIP JH” in black, completely covering the swastika.
Photos of the swastika posted to Facebook Sunday morning show a large red circle on the rock with a swastika painted in the middle.
