The Beautiful Plains Medical Clinic Committee is pleased to announce that an expansion of the present clinic located at Mountain Avenue and Isabel Street in downtown Neepawa has begun construction.
The BPMC is a committee of Neepawa and Area Development Corp. which owns the clinic building. Having purchased the clinic several years ago, NADCO has done extensive repairs and upgrades on the existing building.
NADCO currently rents out space in the Beautiful Plains Medical Clinic to five medical doctors and an optometrist.
Over the past several months, the clinic committee has worked closely with the doctors to develop an expansion plan that will see the present clinic expand to the east with the addition of nine new examination rooms.
Some of the existing examination rooms will be converted to other purposes or to make an access to the new section.
Currently five doctors work out of the clinic and the expansion will allow room for seven or eight doctors.
During the construction phase, clinic parking will be disrupted somewhat and upon completion, there will be a mix of on-street parking, a small parking lot on the north side of the addition and a larger parking lot to the south.
The new building will have a main floor with new examination rooms plus a lower level that will be developed into a mechanical room as well as a suite for future medical students to work out of the Neepawa clinic on a rotating basis.
