City administration has agreed to follow up on complaints of problem turkeys in the south end of Brandon.

“They’re pooping on everything, they’re on top of people’s houses, on top of their cars, pecking at the paint jobs on the cars,” Coun. Ron Brown (Richmond) said during a council meeting on Monday.

Brown raised the matter after receiving four complaints about large flocks of turkeys in the city’s south end, ranging in size from as many as 18 birds to nearly 40.

City manager Rod Sage said he would take the matter under advisement and pass it on to the bylaw enforcement unit, as well as the police chief.

“I know that they tried to relocate a number of them, I believe last year. Clearly they’re re-populating, so we’ll see what we can do to address the issue.”
