Police in Dauphin charged a teen after two people were allegedly stabbed early Sunday.
At approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, Dauphin RCMP received a report of a stabbing in an alley behind Second Avenue Southwest.
According to police, a 21-year-old woman had multiple stab wounds and a 20-year-old man had a single stab wound. Both were treated in the hospital.
The two people were walking on the street when they reportedly saw a group of people being chased by another group, police say. They went into an alley to avoid the fight, but were attacked when the second group passed by them.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested for the incident.
He was reportedly injured during the arrest, so he was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Officers are still looking for the other suspects.
Dauphin RCMP ask anyone with information regarding this alleged assault to contact the Dauphin detachment at 204-622-5020, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure tip online at manitobacrimestoppers.com.
