Police say a man drove her to an undisclosed location, where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted over several hours.

The girl eventually managed to escape and used a passerby’s cellphone to call police.

Cory Lee Whalen, who is 40, has been charged with numerous offences, including sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault, abduction and forcible confinement.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published Sept. 29, 2023.
