Three teams remained undefeated after two days of play at the Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Morden.

The top three seeds, Kaitlyn Lawes (Fort Rouge), Kate Cameron (Granite), and Jolene Campbell (Assiniboine Memorial) all won their two games on Thursday to improve their records to 4-0.

The three rinks are assured of being among the six teams who will advance beyond the preliminary round-robin on the weekend, with Lawless finishing at 5-0 after her Friday morning game.

Meanwhile, Dauphin skip Tiffany Armstrong and her foursome of third Morgan Kropeinicki, second Stacy Sime and lead Tamara Kolida dropped to 0-4 after losing twice on Thursday. In the team’s late draw, Zoey Terrick (Heather) prevailed 9-6.

With that loss Armstrong was eliminated from weekend play. She finished round-robin play with a 6-3 win over Rachel Kaatz (Assiniboine Memorial) during her Friday morning draw.

The top three teams from each pool carry their round-robin records forward and play three more games, against the three teams from the other pool.

If needed, a single tiebreaker game will be played Saturday evening. The Sunday playoff round will feature the second and third place teams facing off with the winner advancing to play the first place team at 2 p.m.

The winning rink on Sunday will represent Manitoba at the 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada’s national women’s curling championship, next month in Calgary, Alta.
