Edmonton police say the death of a security guard patrolling a downtown apartment building is being investigated as a homicide.
Police say officers were called to the complex shortly after midnight for a report of a gunshot.
Responding officers provided first aid to the unresponsive 20-year-old guard found in a stairwell.
The man was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
Police say an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, and anyone with information can contact police or Crime Stoppers.
