The trade activity around the Western Hockey League continues to heat up as the Jan. 9 deadline nears.
Here’s a look at this week’s action, which includes some blockbusters.
• On Thursday, the Victoria Royals acquired 20-year-old forward Brandon Lisowsky and a fifth-round pick in 2028 from the Saskatoon Blades for 20-year-old forward Tanner Scott and second-round picks in 2025 and 2026.
• On Thursday, the Calgary Hitmen acquired 20-year-old goalie Dan Hauser of Chestermere, Alta., from the Wenatchee Wild for 20-year-old defenceman Max Muranov of Moscow, a pair of American prospects, 17-year-old forward Mason Moe of Eden Prairie, Minn., and 15-year-old goalie Mark Djomo of Dallas, plus a third-round pick in 2026 and a second-round pick in 2027.
• On Wednesday, Victoria acquired 19-year-old Japanese forward Kenta Isogai and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2027 from Wenatchee. The Wild, who continue to dig themselves out of the mess created by the old Winnipeg Ice franchise, were sent 17-year-old forward Morgan Hackman of Vernon, B.C., 17-year-old defenceman Nick Koering of Eden Prairie, Minn., a second-round selection in 2025, a third-round pick in 2027 and a fifth-round pick in 2028.
• On Tuesday, the Prince Albert Raiders acquired 19-year-old defenceman Matteo Fabrizi of St. Albert, Alta., from the Red Deer Rebels for 18-year-old defenceman Doogan Pederson of Langley, B.C., 15-year-old forward prospect Miller Robson of Saskatoon and a third-round pick in 2025.
