MONTREAL – A man in his 20s has died after a car crash in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec Friday night.

Quebec provincial police say they received a call around 9 p.m. Friday about the crash in Beauceville, Que., about 72 kilometres southeast of Quebec City.

Police spokesperson Laurie Avoine says the driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons that are not yet known and veered into a wooded area.

Avoine says the driver was thrown out of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, also a man in his 20s, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing
