The Assiniboine College Cougars earned a pair of victories in a home-and-home series with the Dakota College at Bottineau Lady Jacks in American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 action on the weekend.
On Sunday afternoon at J&G Homes Arena, the Lady Jacks struck first but Brooklyn Franklin tied it before the first period ended and the Cougars took the game over with a four-goal second period. Kasey Fouillard had two goals, and Keely Emms-Finnsson, Cami Murray and Madison Haliuk also scored in the win, with Payton Murray earning the win in net.
On Saturday afternoon at the Bottineau Lumberdome, Fouillard had a hat trick and Haliuk scored the winner in a 4-2 Cougars victory. Rachel Halldorson earned the win in net.
The teams meet again two more times, back at the Bottineau Lumberdome on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and J&G Homes Arena on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7:45 p.m.
AC then finishes up the regular season against North Dakota State University at J&G Homes Arena on the weekend of Feb. 22-23.
