EDMONTON – Correctional Service Canada says a 21-year-old inmate has escaped from a minimum-security facility in Edmonton.
Staff at Stan Daniels Healing Centre reported that Tyrrel Bigchild escaped during an escorted temporary absence in the city at 2:09 p.m. Saturday.
Bigchild is currently serving a two-year, nine-month sentence for robbery, assault with a weapon and failure to comply while undertaking.
He is described as 5’8, weighing 170 pounds and has a fair complexion, brown eyes and hair.
He also has several tattoos, including the word “RESPECT” on his right upper arm, a grim reaper on his right hand, an infinity symbol on his right forearm, the word “LOYALTY” on his left hand, “THUG LIFE” on his left upper arm and small waves on his neck.
Correctional Service Canada says Native Counselling Services of Alberta has contacted the Edmonton Police Service and a warrant for Bigchild’s arrest has been issued, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
