All the action in the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League on Wednesday and Friday was postponed as a pair of blizzards swept through southern Manitoba. Those games will be rescheduled.
BOYS

The fourth-place Wheat Kings (21-6-0-1) finished up the first half of the season with a home-and-home series against the Southwest Cougars.
On Sunday at Souris/Glenwood Memorial Complex, Cole Dupuis sniped twice and Reid Nicol, Benjamin Sveistrup and Matthew Dupuis also scored as the Wheat Kings galloped to a 5-0 lead in the opening frame en route to an 8-1 victory.
Brandon also received goals from Nolan Peterson, Crew Elder and a second from Nicol, who missed Saturday’s game after being called up by the Everett Silvertips.
Cole Lobreau had the goal for Southwest. Cooper Dryden made 30 saves for Brandon, with Brady Shields blocking 32 shots for Southwest.
On Saturday at J&G Homes Arena, Urijah Moosetail made 28 saves, and Hudson Champagne’s breakaway goal in the second period stood as the winner in a 4-0 Brandon victory.
Cole Dupuis, Matthew Dupuis and Easten Turko also scored for the Wheat Kings. Nate Brown blocked 31 shots for Southwest.
Brandon was unable to play its games against Parkland on Friday at Dauphin’s Credit Union Place and the Winnipeg Thrashers at J&G Homes Arena on Wednesday.
The Wheat Kings don’t return from the Christmas break until Friday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m., when the Winnipeg Bruins visit. They host the Kenora Thistles on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m.
SOUTHWEST COUGARS

The sixth-place Cougars (17-9-1-2) met the Wheat Kings last week.
They return from the break on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 4 at 3 p.m., when they host the Eastman Selects.
YELLOWHEAD CHIEFS
The ninth-place Chiefs (13-17-0-0) met the first-place Winnipeg Wild (24-3-1-2) and the fifth-place Eastman Selects (18-8-1-1).
On Sunday at Steinbach’s Southeast Event Centre, Nolan Kozak and Ethan Turchinski gave Yellowhead a 2-0 lead 11:28 into the game but four minutes later Eastman had tied it. Carter Brown and Alec Strachan then restored the two-goal Chiefs lead, but Eastman scored three goals in 68 seconds midway through the third period and won 5-4
Landon McGregor made 52 saves for Yellowhead, with Carter Warren blocking 28 shots for Eastman.
On Saturday at Hockey For All Centre, Brandon Wheat Kings prospect Mark Munday had a natural hat trick as the Winnipeg Wild built up a 7-0 and went on to an 8-2 victory.
Alec Strachan and Tyson Bridge replied for the Chiefs. Landon McGregor made 37 saves for the Cougars, with Ardan Downey blocking 19 shots for the Wild.

Yellowhead had its game on Friday at Southdale Community Centre against the Winnipeg Bruins postponed.
The Chiefs return from the break on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Jan. 4 at 1 p.m., when the Winnipeg Thrashers visit Shoal Lake Communiplex for a weekend doubleheader.
PARKLAND RANGERS
The eighth-place Rangers (15-8-4-0) didn’t play their scheduled game against Brandon and then visited the 13th-place Kenora Thistles (1-24-0-1) at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre.
On Sunday, Noah Smigelsky scored twice and Brayden Budolowski, Ryzlie Nepinak, Joshua Weir added singles in a 5-1 Parkland win.
Carter Sigurdson made 36 saves for Parkland, with Tyson Ponton blocking 46 shots for Kenora.
On Saturday, Dayson Martin scored twice in the four-round shootout as the Rangers earned a 5-4 victory.
Brody Kaminski, Noah Smigelsky, Noah Hanneson and Alex Campbell scored for Parkland in regulation. Eddy Person made 39 saves for Parkland, with Keanu Waasa’aanakwad blocking 38 shots for Kenora.
The Rangers return from the break on Jan. 2 and 3 for a pair of home games against Central Plains.
GIRLS
YELLOWHEAD CHIEFS
The Chiefs (7-8-1-1), who are in a three-way tie for fourth place with the teams they played, met the Winnipeg Avros (7-8-2-0) and the Central Plains Capitals (8-9-0-0) at the Shoal Lake Communiplex in the Manitoba Female Hockey League U18 AAA.
On Sunday, Bailey Schwartz was sensational in stopping 47 shots for Central Plains as they blanked Yellowhead 3-0. Gracie Johnston made 21 saves for the Chiefs.
On Saturday, Haley Chipelski, Emma Pollock and Jordan Woloski scored for Yellowhead in a 5-3 loss to Winnipeg.
Kylie Hack made 23 saves for Yellowhead, with Adriana Almeida blocking 32 shots for Winnipeg.
The Chiefs return to the ice on Jan. 3 when they journey to Winnipeg’s Seven Oaks Arena to meet the Avros. They head to the Hockey For All Centre the next day to play the Ice to complete their all-Winnipeg weekend.
WESTMAN WILDCATS

The third-place Wildcats (9-6-0-4) had their game against the Winnipeg Avros postponed on Friday but met Central Plains Capitals at Hartney Arena.
On Saturday, Callie Franklin, Lily Wells, Lucy Waldner and Addison Henwood scored in a 4-1 Westman victory over Central Plains.
Indigo Stone made 18 saves for Westman, with Olivia May blocking 31 shots for Central Plains.
The Wildcats return on Sunday, Jan. 11 when they visit Stonewall’s Veterans Memorial Sports Complex to play the Interlake Lightning.
