CALGARY – A 15-year-old boy accused of attacking his grandmother in Calgary is now facing a murder charge.
Police say they were called on March 29 about an altercation at a residence in northeast Calgary.
They say a woman in her 50s was taken to hospital but later died.
The boy was initially charged with aggravated assault but the charge has been upgraded to second-degree murder.
He was also charged with one count of mischief to property.
Police say the victim’s name won’t be released in order to protect the family’s privacy and the identity of the youth.
