BEAUVAL – Mounties say a man is facing charges after officers responding to a call in northern Saskatchewan were assaulted and the windshield of a police vehicle was smashed.

They say police received a call early Monday about a man causing a disturbance at a home in the village of Beauval, located about 400 kilometres north of Saskatoon.

They say there was an altercation in the home, a door was damaged and a parked RCMP vehicle was damaged.

A photo supplied by police shows a large crack in the centre of the windshield and shattered glass.

Police say officers who responded were threatened and assaulted while trying to arrest a suspect.

The 28-year-old man from Saskatoon is facing several charges, including assault of a police officer and mischief.
