CALGARY – Police say officers are investigating the deaths of a woman and a child at a home in northeast Calgary.
They say there’s no risk to the public and that there are no outstanding suspects.
Officers were called Wednesday afternoon for a welfare check at the house in the neighbourhood of Temple.
Inside, they found the bodies of the woman in her 40s and the child, who was under 10.
Calgary police would not answer questions about who called in the welfare check or if there are any family members inside the home.
Staff Sergeant Mike Saad says there are supports for the officers who attended the tragic scene.
“Our officers are being taken care of, just like they take care of our community,” said Saad.
