EDMONTON – Three people are dead after an SUV and a semi-truck crashed north of Edmonton.

Sturgeon County says all three in the SUV died on impact.

RCMP say the crash happened Thursday on Highway 28 near the town of Gibbons, about 40 kilometres north of Edmonton.

Part of the highway was rerouted overnight while police investigated.

Mouties say the scene has since been cleared.
