WINNIPEG – A former long-serving Manitoba member of Parliament is facing more gun charges after police found hundreds of weapons and almost 27 kilograms of explosives at his home.
Manitoba RCMP say Inky Mark faces 26 new offences on top of the dozen he was previously charged with in July after the raid on his Dauphin home.
They say charges against the 78-year-old include weapons trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon and having more than six kilograms of explosives.
Police say they found 445 firearms in Mark’s home, including hundreds that were alleged to be unsafely stored, along with $300,000 cash and a cannon.
They say Mark was rearrested on the new charges on Aug. 12 and has since been released on an undertaking.
Mark, who was elected five times to represent Dauphin-Swan River in Parliament, could not be immediately reached for comment.
