CALGARY – Calgary police say a 19-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle hit a curb, lost control and crashed into a fire hydrant.

Police say the crash happened on Friday afternoon in the north end neighbourhood of Evanston.

They say the man died at the scene.

Investigators say they are looking into whether speed was a factor.

Police say they are also looking for a black helmet they believe the motorcyclist was wearing at the time of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to contact police.
