VICTORIA – British Columbia Premier David Eby says he hasn’t decided on a possible early election, as upheaval continues in the rival B.C. Conservative Party, with the loss of three more members.
Eby’s comment at the Union of British Columbia Municipalities convention in Vancouver comes amid speculation of an early election, and chaos in the official Opposition ranks.
The office of the clerk at the legislature says former Conservative leader John Rustad and former interim leader Trevor Halford are no longer part of the party’s caucus, the office having received notice from the party’s interim house leader, Heather Maahs.
The opposition caucus has now lost 12 members under the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay, after the office of the clerk earlier Friday confirmed that Claire Rattée was also out.
More coming.
